Educating the Children

The Prescott Regulators & Their Shady Ladies, Inc. traditionally visits with the 4th grade students at Del Rio School in Chino Valley as part of their Arizona History celebration.

 
 
 

History Time Line in Jerome

The Prescott Regulators & Their Shady Ladies, Inc. joined with the Arizona Rough Riders and other historical units to present a unique Time Line in Jerome on May 15 and 16, 2010.

This was part of the traditional Jerome House Tour weekend. The re-enactors presented colors each morning, held an 1800's fashion show, performed gunfight skits in town, held military battles and set an authentic camp at the north end of town.

 
 
 

Military History at Ft. Verde

The Ft. Whipple Regulars, a unit of PRSL, set up a fantastic exhibit at the Military History event at Ft. Verde, AZ on April 10 and 11, 2010.

The Ft. Whipple Regulars re-enact a unit stationed at Ft Whipple in 1876.

 
 
 

"April Foolishness" at Sharlot Hall Museum

On April 1, 2010 the Prescott Area Independent restaurant association (PAI) sponsored a new and unique fund raiser for Sharlot Hall Museum.

It was a moving party that started at the Museum, then moved on to the Firehouse Restaurant.

The Prescott Regulators & Their Shady Ladies, Inc. supported Sharlot Hall Museum by staffing the front gate, acting as hosts in the Museum's outlying buildings and just generally being available to assist with whatever was needed.

 
 
 

Festival of the West - Costume "Sweep"

On March 20, 2010 many of our PRSL members journeyed to Scottsdale to the Festival of the West. Members who entered the costume contest received an abundance of the awards that were granted that day.

As the event was getting underway, JohnB, Lannis and JohnL stir up some excitement.

PRSL once again had a great time supporting Yavapai County Big Brothers/Big Sisters at their annual fundraiser.

Hearts for Heroes

On February 13, 2010, the Prescott Regulators & Their Shady Ladies, Inc., and our unique Ft. Whipple Regulars, were honored to assist with this event, the net proceeds of which will be used to benefit our military veterans.

 
 
 

Gold Rush Days - Wickenburg

The weather was just great and the crowd really appreciate PRSL as we marched in the Gold Rush Days Parade in Wickenburg, AZ on Saturday.

 
 
 

Bucky O'Neil's 150th Birthday Party

PRSL enjoyed supporting Sharlot Hall Museum as they held a 150th Birthday Party for Prescott's Bucky O'Neil.

Along with the Arizona Roughriders, our costuming added colorful flavor to the celebration.

 
 
 

Prescott DAR Presentation

On Monday, January 18, PRSL was pleased to speak with members of the Daughters of the American Revolution at their monthly meeting. It is through community outreach such as this that we share our mission and tidbits of Old West history.

 
 
 

Holiday Light Parade

We had a great time decorating our float with sooooo many lights -- And decorating ourselves with all of the mini lights that made our costumes sparkle The weather was wonderful, and we couldn't have had a better time!.

 
 
 

Credit Union West

Our Sponsor, Credit Union West, had a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the opening of their new office at Gurley and Grove in Prescott. PRSL was proud to attend, mingle with guests and support CUW's event.

 
 
 

Gathering of the Gunfighters

PRSL attended the 12th Annual Gathering of the Gunfighters held at the Territorial Prison State Park in Yuma, AZ. It was a great 2 days which included a costume contest and competition skits.

On December 5, 2009 PRSL participated in Prescott's famous Christmas Parade. Miss Molly slept through the parade route as she IMAGINES what Christmas used to be.

 
 
 

Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Yavapai County

This organization was our featured charity at our 2009 Shootout on Whiskey Row. It is PRSL's goal to share net proceeds from this event with a local charity. For the 4th year in a row, PRSL was able to increase our local donation. Our 2009 donation was $2,000.

Jail & Bail

July 3-5, 2009

PRSL members set up their Jail & Bail to raise funds for their charity "Sharlot Hall Museum" at the corner of Whiskey Row and Goodwin. They were half drowned, blown to pieces (especially the popup) and endured wind and heat but had a great time and raised some good moolah for the museum.

Ft. Verde Living History Weekend

PRSL members were on hand with our own Ft. Whipple Regulars to assist Ft. Verde in their annual living history weekend. There was a costume presentation, living campsites and everything from the 1800's to the Vietnam War Era on display. And the food was wonderful as was the Camaraderie in trying to keep this beautiful and historical fort open.

Bowl for Kid's Sake

PRSL members had a great time bowling for the Yavapai Big Brothers and Big Sisters. We also did meeting and greeting and won a trophy for Most Enthusiastic group in our session!! We raised around $900.00 for BBBS and had so much fun, I think we will do it again!
Especially the girls who performed their skit: Bloomer Bowling!

PRSL helped out the Fort Verde State Park with their educational Living History Event. We had alot of fun there even though the wind was gusting to 60 mph and it got down to 30 degress that night. It was a very interesting show and we had lots of visitors to our camp that comprised of the Chuck wagon & Cowboy Camp.

PRSL was having way too much fun performing in the middle of the street at dark for this great event. Unfortunately, many of the pictures taken were too dark to post but you should have seen the smoke and blazing guns. It was great!! And attracted many many onlookers who had a lot of fun watching.

 
 
 

Heritage days

PRSL was at Sharlot Hall Museum for the 2008 Heritage Days first annual celebration. Members gave lessons on mining, military, frontier toys, chuckwagons and dutch oven cooking. We also served up some cobblers, ice cream and ice cold water for the visitors.

PRSL was honored as "The Old West Ambassadors to Prescott", to perform for the city employees on what turned out to be a beautiful day. Members even got to get a little skit practice in beforehand.

 
 
 

Trail Ride 08

Miss Rose, Renagade, Dale and Ol' George were back at it again for the 2008 PFD Trail Ride serving up so good ol' dutch oven cooking grub and goodies. The pre 1800 Studebaker chuck wagon gave the event a good ol' fashioned trail ride feel. Many thanks to the members who showed up and helped in this event.

Arizona Living History Celebration

August 2, 2008

PRSL members were honored to be invited to and onhand to assist, at the first Arizona Living History Celebration hosted by Yavapai College and Prescott Historian, Melissa Ruffner. This one day event held many booths and presentations by local historians such as Jody Drake of the Blue Rose Theater, John Langolier of Sharlot Hall and Maxine Dillahunty of the Prescott Victorian Society. PRSL's military unit posted flags, members gave costume demonstrations of styles and characters from the civil war era through the 1890's and welcomed attendees to the show.

Well folks, another Shootout has come and gone. We want to thank all the wonderful reenactors for braving the cost of gas to get here, the sponsors who helped fund the event, the Arizona Gunfighters for their generosity and assistance with sound equipment and performances, the people who came out and supported us and the members of the Prescott Regulators & their Shady Ladies who worked so hard to pull this together.

 
 
 

Arizona State Transportation Board Conference

Welcome Home Vets!

Welcome Home to our soldiers returning from Iraq & Afghanistan. We Salute You and say Thank You to you and your families!

PRSL members were honored to be at the Veteran's Hospital in Prescott when these soldiers returned. We were able to visit many booths showing all the services being offered to veterans coming home. PRSL military unit members were onhand along with some lovely shady ladies to say "Welcome Home"!

PRSL had a great time and was so excited to be invited to assist these great people at their conference. We arrested, jailed, bailed, laughed at and with the fine folks attending! We thank the Arizona EDC for inviting us and we hope to be invited again!

PRSL had a wonderful time once again at the Tombstone Wyatt Earp Days 2008. We got to dress up and shoot guns! It just doesnt get any better than this. Oh, except the part where we got "2nd Place"!! WooHoo! And...6 costume awards...Another WooHoo! Good Job Everyone!

The Official Old West Ambassadors to Prescott

PRSL was honored by the City of Prescott Mayor Jack Wilson and City Council by being given a Proclamation as the "Official Old West Ambassadors to Prescott" from Councilwoman Mary Ann Suttles at the City Council meeting. We cannot express our gratitude and our sincere humble thankfulness! We will continue to try and make this town proud of us and work hard for those less fortunate folks. Thank You Prescott!

Children's Birthday Party Show

May 2008

PRSL performed at their first children's birthday party. Parents contacted us after their son saw the group perform at the MAG Arts Show and could'nt tear him away. We had a great time, gave safety demonstrations and talked about gun safety to those little folks. Parents attending the party stated "It was the first time those kids were that quiet and paid attention that long". It was a great experience for us and a lot of fun for the little buckaroos and buckarettes!

A Shotgun Wedding

PRSL members were on hand to rope, I mean wrangle, I mean help this gentleman get to the wedding. They also helped with the decorations, cake and punch service and clean up detail. It was a beautiful wedding and the happy couple had a great time.

2008 Wickenburg Parade

PRSL had a great time for the third year in a row, attending this wonderful parade. The crowds were huge! There were so many entries this year with excellent decorations and fun themes. We were so honored to win "Best Adult Group" and we thank the City of Wickenburg, the judges and the great crowds!

 
 
 

10th Annual Gathering of the Gunfighters

PRSL members had a great time visiting friends, competing in the gunfight performances, entering costume contest and lots of eating and visiting the local museums. We came away with three costume awards we are very proud of. We also salute the members who entered the constest but did not win. They are winners to us!!!

 
 
 

2nd Annual Festival of the Trees

PRSL Shady Ladies, Miss Bea Haven & Miss Lilly White, put together this wonderful western themed, decorated wreath, to place in our buisness host's, "Jersey Lilly's Saloon", in participation with the Prescott Downtown Partnerships, 2nd Annual Festival of the Trees Auction. Our wreath made us proud and got us a big $200.00 donation!! We thank our bidders and Jersey Lilly's!!

Festival of the West

Numerous members of our group traveled to the Festival of the West at Rawhide. It's always a great day to wear our "old west" duds, do some shopping, try out the chuck wagon food, and.....of course.....enter the costume contest!

Ten of our members ventured onto the judges' stage, and ten of the members walked away with a trophy! We had a good time cheering each other on, and we will probably do it all again next year.

We had a great time converting our float from an old western town to a covered wagon to support the "western Christmas" theme.

We don't know how many lights we put on the float and tow vehicle, but it did turn off one of the generators due to an overload!

Ft. Verde Days

We felt good about participating in this annual historial event at the original Ft. Verde in Camp Verde, AZ. The 2-day event featured mounted drills, Buffalo Soldiers encampment, presentations of 1800's crafts and other activities designed to highlight the fort during the Indian Wars time period.
